Fools Journey

Fortune tellers become what the people expect to see. Palm reading, tarot cards and psychic readings, are all established systems of belief. Some people already believe that astrology, tarot, palmistry, as well countless other things, have a special supernatural power which can be tapped into, or in the case of the psychic some believe that a psychic “sixth sense”, truly exist. Just as with religion, con men with insincere intentions, flock to the occult specifically to tap into the mass of faithful followers of these belief systems

These videos by Jose Alvarez are terrific. James Van Praagh is a famous "medium" who claims to speak with the dead. This video shows the anatomy of his trickery and the length to which he'll go to exploit people's grief.

Fools Journey

Blake Walker

The view I take on the velleity of true psychics and mind reading, is that they may exist but I see no evidence so far, so I do not believe in real true psychics. You will see I believe very little, (trying to believe nothing) but I strive to accept infinite possibility. Now I do believe 100% that people do believe they have had psychic or prophetic visions and dreams of the future and past, I myself have had personal experiences, that truly appear miraculous.
I became interested in religion, myth and superstition, after realizing how easily people are truly deceived, and how much, they really want to believe in magic and the paranormal. I began to explore my own superstitions, my own assumptions of the world. To question the basis of much of what I believe only leads to more questions, questions without solid answers. In simple terms I have put it like this at times, “When I was 17 years old I knew everything, at 42, I know nothing.” The more I explore my own agendas, my own will, and my own morality, the more I realize the roles I play to achieve a certain goals. The unintentional deception or omission, editing all information to fit my own personal world view. Bending and shaping sound bites of information to fit an ideal model created from my minds interpretation of truth and fact. Now multiply that with almost everyone, some only unintentional deception, some out to defraud someone everyday. With all of this mis-interpretation and deception our mind is clouded with false beliefs, yet we feel like we actually have a grip on true reality. It is much easier to notice someone else’s flawed world view than it is to admit that our own beliefs may not be fact. This corrupt information is due to mis-interpretations of good information or good interpretations of mis-information or even mis-interpretations of mis-information. Much of what we identify with knowledge and truth is actually our interpretation of the consensus or the public opinion, set in our own world view.
